Can Maggie overcome his deceptions? Will they find a way to love and trust again? *This book intended for adult audiences due to the language and sexual content.
We’ll start at the top so to speak. The cover is not the prettiest, that being said it is fitting. I would never have looked twice at this book because of the cover, but lets get past the cover! The story is wonderful. Maggie and Brayden are going through a lull in their relationship. It happens, but Maggie is ready for “the ring.” Brayden pulling away kind of worries her that she pushed too hard. Then she gets some devestating news that makes her wonder what is going on with her man.
Brayden is handling the stress at work and the stress at home as he always has, poorly. When we glimpse into his past, we see a hurting boy that grew into a hurting man. Something happens that brings everything into the light. It disappoints everyone close to him, especially Maggie. Can Brayden ever get on the right track? Will Maggie ever trust him again? We’ll see!
The story I found more ensnaring than Dina and Ryder’s from Restore My Heart. I just could not get the cover out of my mind’s eye, the thought that it doesn’t fit the sadness and beauty of the story drove me to distraction. That and it didn’t do justice to the sexiness its 1970 Dodge Charger.
